Production Coordinator, Vocal Music and Musical Theater Teacher
KRISTIN VAN SICKLE has a BA in Vocal Music Pedagogy and has been a teacher, director, music director and performer for 2 decades. She has been the Production Coordinator, Vocal Music Teacher and Musical Theater Director at Northwest Academy for 11 years. Kristin also maintains a private home studio where she trains students in proper vocal technique and body awareness as well as musical storytelling. Her students have studied at some of the top music and theatre schools in the country including Carnegie Mellon, Manhattan School of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Boston Conservatory, NYU and more.
Since moving to Portland 10 years ago, she has become very active in the Portland Theater Community. Kristin is a proud member of the Portland Center Stage Board of Directors and hopes to continue her volunteer work to strengthen the downtown Portland artistic community. In addition to all of the shows she has directed at NWA, some favorite performing and directing credits include the world premiere of the original musical The Kiss at Lakewood Theater (Music Director and Vocal Arranger), Matilda the Musical at Imagine Theatre (Director), Wine, Women and Song (Woman 3) at Magenta Theater, Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World (Woman 1, Director, Producer) at Chapel Theater and Lizzie: The Musical (Lizzie, Producer) at Chapel Theater.
