Northwest Academy Dean of Students, Kiara Walls, has brought her experiential artwork to our community! Black Box III ~ "Conversations” is the third installment in The Black Box Experience project.
The Black Box Experience has occupied each space Walls has resided through institutionalized collaboration in Los Angeles, CA at Otis College Art of Design, Dallas, TX at Sunset Art Studios, and now in Portland, OR at Northwest Academy. As a social practice artist, arts educator, and now Dean, Walls sets out to start and continue the conversation around reparations and repair to address the injuries inflicted on the African American community.

Communicare Students
As many of you know, the Junior class is doing a Communicare project to raise money for mental health organizations. The Schnitzer Foundation has agreed to match our donations 10x, meaning for every dollar we donate they give $10 to the organization of our choice!!
November is Native American/Indigenous People's Heritage Month! To celebrate, our D.I.C.E. team chatted with two guests, Daphne Jenkins and Laura Da'. Both guests led activities that we encourage you to try at home with your families!
The High School Instrumental Music Concert will feature student performances from the Angry Pigeon Music Collective, and the High School Instrumental Music class. With works from JS Bach to Herbie Hancock, this will be an exciting first concert back! We hope to see you there.

The Reformers have done everything in their power to encourage screams and chills each autumn for the last several years. PEEP is The Reformers way of giving back to society and bringing out some optimism and light. They’ve even brought on an actual earth witch to help focus the power! All they need is some brave audience members to submit their own energies to the ritual, er… show! What could possibly go wrong?
