  • What grade levels do you serve?

Northwest Academy serves grades 6-12. Many students start at 6th grade and stay through high school, but some enroll at high school. We also see many Montessori students enroll at 7th grade.
  • How do I visit or attend an event?

We'd love to have you visit our campus! You can schedule a tour, or come to one of our many school performances. Prospective students can attend school with us during a Shadow Day, fill out the Inquiry Form to get more information.
  • How much is tuition & do you offer financial aid?

Our tuition for the 2026-2027 school year is $32,796 for middle school and $34,969 for high school. There is a $100 non-refundable application fee for all first year students.

28% of our families receive financial aid, you can find more info on the Tuition and Financial Aid page of our website.
  • Is it safe for my child to go to school downtown?

Northwest Academy's urban campus spans four downtown Portland buildings (Main Street, Century Plaza, Century Tower and Buchan) and feels a bit like a college campus. Our location gives students the opportunity to build independence and civic engagement.

Security is our highest priority for our students, and in addition to our own private security team we partner with Downtown Portland Clean & Safe to monitor our campus. Middle school students are supervised during all passing periods and lunch, and always move across campus with a faculty member. High school students have freedom to move through downtown during lunch and study hall periods.

We find that attending an urban school builds confidence, independence, empathy, and community awareness in our students.
