Financial Aid at Northwest Academy
We believe cost should not be a barrier to an exceptional education.
It is our goal to provide outstanding educational opportunities for qualified students regardless of economic background. Northwest Academy offers need-based financial aid to about 25% of our students annually. Applying for financial aid does not affect a student’s chances for admission.

Northwest Academy partners with Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) to screen candidates applying for financial aid. Our Financial Aid Committee considers FAST’s calculation of need, along with a student’s academic record and potential to contribute to the school community, when determining awards. All applications are reviewed on an individual basis. Information obtained for this purpose is kept strictly confidential.

Northwest Academy maintains a strong commitment to our financial aid program and to enrolling economically diverse students. However, the need for financial aid is sometimes greater than the school is able to meet. We will work with families to find a solution whenever possible.

  • Decisions, Contract, and Deposit

The Financial Aid Committee reviews aid applications in February and March. Applicants will be notified of their award status in mid-March, at the same time as admissions decisions and enrollment contracts are offered. A signed contract must be submitted and a non-refundable, 10% net-tuition deposit paid by the stated deadline in order to secure award funds. Failure to do so could result in the loss of the award.
  • For parents who are divorced, separated, or never married

To make an accurate determination of a family’s need for financial aid, we require that both parents, custodial or non-custodial, submit the required financial information. Information from spouses of parents who have remarried and domestic partners who contribute to the family’s finances must also be included.
