Joshua Smibert is an Aussie-born entrepreneur who has built businesses across tech, travel, and the arts. He’s best known for Roadtrippers, a travel app that helps people find quirky, offbeat destinations and was ultimately acquired by RV giant, Thor Industries. His current company Walden, is focused on making the global business of the outdoors smarter and more sustainable, which in turn protects the wild places it (and we) depend on.
Joshua and his wife Erica have lived in more than 15 US cities and road-tripped through 47 states with their two sons, Grayson and Ronin. Grayson, a graduate of Northwest Academy, is currently studying Film at SCAD, while Ronin is a sophomore. As a family, they share a love for food, nature and exploring the world in all of its wonderful weirdness.
In addition to his business ventures, Joshua is a founder of Alice, an award-winning immersive art bar in Cincinnati, and is working on a civic arts project in downtown Portland, aimed at creating a vibrant space for both the arts and entrepreneurship.
