Cheyenne Jones was born and raised in Southeast Portland, and has been teaching, in one way or another, since she was fifteen. She has been a swim instructor, a preschool teacher, a Kindergarten & First Grade teacher, an ESL teacher to adults in Toronto, Canada, a Middle School Spanish teacher in New York City, and a Parent Educator with the Migrant Ed program at Portland Public Schools. She co-founded and directed a comprehensive Health & Sexuality Education program at her son’s K-8 school. She has an MA in Spanish from Middlebury College Language Schools and an M.Ed. in Middle School Education from Bank Street College of Education. Her son Gideon is a 2024 graduate of NW Academy, and her son Jesse will graduate from public school in 2027.
