AARON THACKER-WOODRUFF holds a M.F.A. in Performance Pedagogy from Tulane University through a Teaching Fellowship gifted by the Newcomb Department of Music, and a B.F.A. in Music Theatre Performance with a minor in Dance from Sam Houston State University.  Aaron's passion for the arts has cultivated through his work with many awesome students across the United States!

While working as an actor in New Orleans, Aaron also taught in communities of great historical artistic achievement. Through this work, he became passionate about securing corporate partnerships that continue to fund performance and wellness initiatives for youth across New Orleans. In Chicago, Aaron served as Chair of Musicianship for Chicago Center for Music Education running 7 contracts with Chicago Public Schools, and also served on Porchlight Music Theatre's strategic planning council. In Phoenix, Aaron served as Theatre Faculty, New Teacher Trainer/Campus LMS Administrator, and Honorary Board Member for Arizona School for the Arts.  After arriving in Portland, Aaron implemented custom workshops for The Young People's Theatre Project and Oregon Children's Theatre. He's also a proud member of PGMC!

Some of Aaron's more recent Regional Theatre credits include: Artie Green in Sunset Boulevard, Hero in A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum, Patrick Dennis in Mame, Tulsa in Gypsy, Emcee in Cabaret, among others. He originated the role of Joey LaRose in Let Freedom Swing! at the National World War II Museum and was featured in the 20th Century Fox/Tim Burton-produced film, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.
