We are excited to announce that this Friday, December 9, for the all-school lunch event, our very own Kristin Van Sickle will be presenting the work she's created as a part of her Creative Production Grant!
Creative Production Grants are designed to stimulate innovation and experimentation by nurturing personal and professional development in a way that is unique among schools, and that will, directly and indirectly, benefit current and future students. Northwest Academy’s Creative Production Grant Award is given to 4-6 full-time faculty or staff annually to support artistic, intellectual, and creative production during the summer and the academic year of the award.
Kristin will be sharing a selection of songs from the musical she produced with the help of the Creative Production Grant.
"It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice... or take a stand... or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs for a New World." The first musical from Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love, and the choices that we make.
Featuring Courtney Freed, Joshua Huppert, Kimo Camat, and Kristin Van Sickle along with musicians David Saffert, Lee Barbara, Mark Lighthiser, and Paul Van Sickle.
Our middle and high school students, along with faculty and staff will be watching this preview performance, and you're invited too! Northwest Academy community members can join us from 11:40 am to 12:25 pm this Friday, December 9, in the Main Street Sanctuary for this performance.
If you're interested in seeing the full performance, they will take place from February 10 through 12 at Chapel Theatre, 4107 SE Harrison St. Milwaukie, OR 97222.
