Caitlin Gibb

School Counselor, Yoga Teacher

CAITLIN GIBB earned her B.S. in psychology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, her Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, and her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Greenhouse Holistic in Brooklyn, NY. As a school counselor, she enjoys helping students and families find practical strategies to support regulation, family connection, and social and academic success just as much as she does exploring how past experiences and family histories may be impacting a student, parent, or family system today. As Northwest Academy's high school yoga instructor, Caitlin hopes to help her students discover how different physical postures, breathwork practices, and philosophical teachings can create space for more ease, mobility, and confidence. Prior to joining Northwest Academy, Caitlin worked as a therapist with children and parents impacted by incarceration, taught mindfulness and yoga in detention facilities and alternative sentencing programs as well as traditional yoga studios, led an anti-gun violence youth leadership program, and worked as a clinician for Psicologos Sin Fronteras (Psychologists Without Borders). In addition to her work with Northwest Academy, Caitlin sees adults in a small private practice. Above all, she seeks to bring kindness, curiosity, and humor to the deeply complicated experience of being human. Caitlin has been with Northwest Academy since 2016.
