Scholarship Fund

Northwest Academy was founded on the principle that every child deserves an excellent education. While Northwest Academy’s tuition is lower than other local independent schools, the cost is still a difficult challenge for many families to meet.

The Board of Trustees dedicates 15% of the school’s annual operating budget for the Scholarship Fund, and additional funds are raised from alumni parents, current families, Trustees, staff, foundations, and corporations. Our annual fundraising event, Club Cabaret, contributes 100% of net proceeds to support the Scholarship Fund.

In 2012-2013, the Scholarship Fund will provide $389,200 in aid to 34 students. Investing in our young people during middle school and high school pays off in higher education; last year’s graduates were offered more than $800,000 in financial aid from their colleges and universities.

Our whole school community benefits from the Scholarship Fund. Economic diversity within the student body enriches the overall experience at Northwest Academy, where differences are respected and appreciated as a part of the school culture.

During my years at Northwest Academy, I have grown in countless ways, both as a student and as a citizen. I’ve formed friendships, learned to read and write critically, and am part of a larger community. At Northwest Academy, there is mutual respect between teachers and students that allows me to form an individual relationship with every teacher. I am so thankful for this wonderful opportunity.
