All- School Service Day Success!

Thank you to all who participated in this year's All-School Service Day! Whether you donated items, drove students around, worked on a specific project, or just helped with loose ends, your support and participation were very much appreciated!

We heard from students, teachers, and project hosts alike and it sounds like it was a great day all around! Read on for a quick recap this year's All-School Service Day!
Students, parents, and faculty took to a number of Portland's great service organizations to help with everything from assembling shelves to moving supplies to help give out food! On-campus, a large group went out to beautify the city by picking up trash, while another group made over 200 snack kits (from the items you donated) that went to Impact NW, and another group made care kits (with your donated items) that went go to our neighbors at Outside In, and yet another group made som gorgeous "welcome home" and "congratulations" letters for the new homeowners who were able to purchase homes through Habitat For Humanity!

We heard back from a number of organizations and chaperones praising our students and their work!

"We were so happy to have the NW Academy students volunteering with Clay Street Table today . . . all 3 groups did an amazing job.  They really listened to what our vision was for each activity, were thoughtful in how to approach and then were flexible in responding to the situations that arose when working with the community!" - Clay Street Table

"Each store absolutely loved hosting your students! They would love to welcome the students back at any time." - Habitat For Humanity

"I have to say that the students far exceeded my wildest expectations! I am so proud of them, and they represented NW Academy and theirselves at the highest level. There was so much work to be done, and they all jumped right in and showed such teamwork. I really wish you could have seen it, right down to scrubbing surfaces and performing deep cleaning. They all displayed natural leadership, and how each one brings different skill sets to get the job done" - Parent Chaperone

This was just a snippet of the praise our students received, so you should all be proud of a job well done!

Thank you again!
