How do I know if I should stay home?

This is a common question with cold and flu season sneaking upon us. Please read below for more information about staying home when ill and the protocols we are following to ensure safety in the community.
In the past, we’ve all continued our daily activities despite minor symptoms. And for the well-being of our community and to preserve in-person learning, it is more important than ever to be cautious of even mild seeming symptoms.

Students and families who have questions about symptoms should take direction from MyMedBot. MMB will tell you what to do if you have various cold, flu, or COVID-19 related symptoms. Primary symptoms include runny nose or congestion, new or worsening cough, loss of taste or smell, or difficulty breathing. Any of these symptoms require a negative test to return to campus

Secondary symptoms include fever of 100.4, chills, diarrhea, headache, sore throat, nausea/vomiting, or fatigue. Students experiencing any 2 of these symptoms will require a negative test to return to campus. Students experiencing 1 of these should stay home until they are feeling well, and are recommended to take a test before returning to campus.

If a student is exposed to someone with a positive case, they will need to schedule a PCR test 3-5 days after the exposure and then receive a negative result before returning to campus.
