Join SOLVE for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service event!
Honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by coming together to care for our community on the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.” Portland is a strong, resilient city, but it needs help. This event is intended to bring people together in service, moving closer to realizing King’s vision of a “beloved community.”
By volunteering, you are helping to not only beautify our city streets, but also ensuring our waterways and local wildlife stay healthy too. There will be check in stations at four different locations across Portland. This day of service is made possible through partnerships with the Portland Business Alliance, Portland Lodging Alliance and Harsch Investment Properties. Please note that this event is a litter cleanup and will not include graffiti removal.

When: Monday, January 18, 2020
Staggered Check In: Event check in will run from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM. Arrive any time during this window. This will allow for a smaller crowd than checking in all at once. The event will run through 11:30 AM.
Advanced Registration Required: Pre-registration is required! Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time so you can sign our electronic waiver to help avoid crowding during check-in.
Meeting Location: Volunteers will meet on the street outside of Northwest Academy at 1130 SW Main St, Portland. Look for SOLVE signs and the check in table. Volunteers will check in and then spread out into the nearby parks and streets. MAP.
