February Northwest Academy Project - The Black Resilience Fund

For Black History Month, Junior Henry Matusow is teaming up with the Black Resilience Fund and organizing a clothing and item donation pick up!

For February's iteration of the Northwest Academy Project and in honor of Black History Month, we are working with the Black Resilience Fund to donate items for their February 20th event. The Black Resilience Fund is an emergency fund dedicated to healing and resilience by providing immediate resources to Black Portlanders. During the week of February 15, we will be collecting new and gently used goods and delivering them from your doorstep to the Black Resilience Fund for distribution. Here are the most-needed items:
  • Cleaning supplies: dish soap, laundry detergent, Lysol, etc.
  • Baby supplies: diapers (all sizes), baby wipes
  • Men's clothing
  • New shoes
  • Kitchen items: small appliances, silverware, pots, pans, etc.
  • Toiletries: especially black hair products
To donate, please send an email to nwacademyproject@gmail.com with your name and physical address. We will let you know which day we'll be picking up in your part of town, and all you have to do is put your donated items outside that day. (Don't worry--we'll send a reminder.) Contactless service! So easy!

Let's show our fellow Portlanders how much the Northwest Academy community cares!

Thanks again,
-Henry Matusow
