Edith Winkler

School Counselor

EDITH WINKLER earned her B.S. in English Literature from Wellesley College and her Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. She has over seven years of experience working as a counselor to children, youth, and families. Her career began in family crisis support in San Francisco and transitioned to providing outpatient therapy & coaching to parents and their children. Edith’s counseling style is psychodynamic and trauma-informed; she utilizes modern relational approaches and believes that the creative process can serve as a container for growth and healing.
 
Edith began at Northwest Academy as a counseling intern and returned as a member of the faculty after the birth of her two daughters. She loves the artistic and unique atmosphere Northwest Academy students bring into the world and particularly enjoys the thrill of watching middle schoolers turn into high schoolers and emerging adults. Edith joined Northwest Academy in 2017.
